“Indra” Drills, “Milan” Exercises Cited in Russia’s Defense Pitch

Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov has emphasized the deep operational synergy between the Indian and Russian militaries, citing joint exercises as a key pillar of the “unique” defense partnership.
In a speech in Delhi, Alipov mentioned the “joint trilateral services military exercises Indra, the latest of which concluded yesterday in Rajasthan.” He also highlighted “participation in multilateral naval exercises such as Milan and the SCO anti-terrorist drills.”
This shared experience, he argued, is “rooted in battlefield experience” and is the foundation for the 60-year-old defense ties.
Building on this, Alipov announced a new defense push. This includes the Su-57 fighter, drones, and advanced radar, expanding on the 70% of India’s military hardware that is already of Russian origin.
This reminder of deep military integration comes at a crucial time. After Donald Trump’s claims about India halting Russian oil, Russia is showcasing the practical, irreplaceable nature of its strategic alliance.
